Kino der Toten Easter Egg Guide — Solo (Black Ops 1 Zombies on PS5)
Every Kino der Toten easter egg in Black Ops 1 Zombies on PS5, all doable solo: the '115' musical easter egg with exact meteor locations, the secret film reels and what they unlock, and Samantha's hidden room.

Overview
Kino der Toten is the launch map of Black Ops 1 Zombies, set in an abandoned German theater, and it's included in the new native PS5 port of the game.
Can you do the Kino der Toten easter eggs solo? ✅ Yes — everything on Kino can be done solo. There is no main quest on this map (the big multi-step easter eggs only started with Ascension). What Kino has instead is a set of side secrets that flesh out the story: the film reels, the '115' song, and Samantha's room.
Film Reels Easter Egg (Secret Maxis Recordings)
The most substantial secret on the map, and easy to do solo while you play normally.
- Turn on the power and link the teleporter to the mainframe.
- Use the teleporter. You'll arrive in the projector room overlooking the stage.
- When the teleport ends, you are sometimes sent to one of several random small rooms (a dentist-chair lab, a wartime conference room, and Samantha's room) before returning to the mainframe.
- In these random rooms, look for a film reel lying on tables or furniture. If you see one, pick it up — you only have a few seconds before being teleported out.
- Teleport again to reach the projector room, and insert the reel into the projector.
- The projector plays a hidden clip with audio from Dr. Maxis and Samantha — a key piece of the Group 935 storyline.
There are three different film reels in total, each with different audio. You won't get one every teleport — keep teleporting across the game and check every random room. It's luck-based, so treat it as a bonus across a long solo run rather than a checklist item.
Musical Easter Egg — "115" (All 3 Meteor Locations)
The most iconic song in Zombies history is hidden on this map. Find and interact with three glowing Element 115 meteor fragments:
- Spawn room — in the corner near the bottom of the right-hand staircase, by the window at floor level.
- Dressing room (the room behind the stage with the mannequins) — tucked slightly behind the mannequins.
- Back room by the alley (after the alley on the Bowie knife route) — on the lower shelf of a rack, surrounded by letters.
Hold the interact button on each rock — you'll hear a confirmation sound. After the third one, 115 by Elena Siegman and Kevin Sherwood plays.
Samantha's Room (Hidden Teleporter Room)
One of the random teleporter rooms is a child's bedroom — Samantha's room. There's nothing to activate, but look around: a Monkey Bomb on the bed, a toy chest that mirrors the Mystery Box, a tea party of Perk-a-Cola bottles with teddy bears, and a wooden model of Der Riese with dolls of Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen — with a teddy bear looming over them. Pure foreshadowing of the Moon reveal, and worth seeing at least once.
FAQ
Does Kino der Toten have a main easter egg quest? No — Kino has no main quest in Black Ops 1. Its easter eggs are the film reels, the musical easter egg and Samantha's room, all solo-friendly.
How many film reels are there in Kino der Toten? Three, each with unique Maxis/Samantha audio. They spawn randomly in the hidden teleporter rooms.
Is the PS5 version different? No — it's a straight port, so every easter egg works exactly like the original 2010 release.
Tips
- The film reels and random rooms are teleporter-RNG — the more you teleport, the more rooms you'll see. Link and use the teleporter every round if you're hunting reels.
- A crawler at the end of a round gives you safe time to grab meteors and check rooms.
- The meteor fragments are small and dark — listen for the faint hum when you're near one.
- Nothing on Kino needs a second player, making it the perfect solo warm-up for the BO1 easter egg maps that follow.
