Origins Solo Easter Egg Guide — Little Lost Girl, All Staffs & Upgrades (Black Ops 2 on PS5)
How to do the Origins easter egg solo in Black Ops 2 Zombies on PS5: all 4 elemental staff builds and upgrades (Fire, Ice, Wind, Lightning), every Little Lost Girl step in order — soul chests, G-Strikes, breaking the seal, the Panzer wave, the Crazy Place finale — fully solo-doable.

Overview
Origins closes Black Ops 2 Zombies in WWI France: three giant robots stomp the trenches, Panzer Soldats hunt you, and the four elemental staffs carry the map. The quest — "Little Lost Girl" — is about freeing Samantha from Agartha.
Can you do the Origins easter egg solo? ✅ Yes — completely. Unlike TranZit, Die Rise and Buried, Origins has no Maxis/Richtofen split and no multi-player-only step: one ending, one trophy, all doable alone. Solo even gets a lighter Panzer wave in the seal step. It's long — budget a couple of hours — but it's the definitive solo easter egg of the BO2 PS5 port.
Warning: the final step ends the game. Do everything you want to do first.
Phase 1: Setup
Generators & Pack-a-Punch
Activate all six generators (stand in the circle, pay, defend). Powering all six opens Pack-a-Punch at the Excavation Site and is required for the quest. Generators can be attacked by Templar crusader zombies — re-capture when needed.
The Gramophone
Pick up the gramophone at the Excavation Site (lowest level table). With the right vinyl records it opens the portals to the Crazy Place in each elemental tunnel, and the lower levels of the dig site itself.
Phase 2: Build All 4 Elemental Staffs
Each staff needs 3 parts + 1 elemental gem (the gem comes from that element's Crazy Place portal). Staffs are built on the pedestals at the bottom of the Excavation Site.
Staff Parts
- Wind (yellow): the three parts are inside the three giant robots — shoot the glowing foot as a robot steps over you to be taken inside, one part per robot (Freya, Odin, Thor).
- Fire (red): one part drops from the plane shot down (round 8+ — shoot the glowing WWI plane), one from the Panzer Soldat kill, one inside the Church near the tank.
- Ice (blue): dig the glowing dig piles while it's snowing — parts appear at dig spots near Generator 2, Generator 3/No Man's Land, and the Church area. Only diggable during snowfall.
- Lightning (purple): ride the tank — the three parts are grabbed from platforms along the tank's route (hop off at the stops on both directions of the loop).
Tunnels & Gems
Wind portal near Generator 4 (Tunnel 4), Lightning near Generator 5 (Tunnel 5), Ice on the Generator 6/Church side, Fire in the trenches between Generators 1–3. Play the gramophone in each tunnel, enter the Crazy Place, grab the gem from its pedestal.
Phase 3: Upgrade All 4 Staffs
Every upgrade follows the same arc: solve the element's Crazy Place puzzle → solve its map puzzle → shoot the glowing orb in the lowest chamber of the Excavation Site with the staff → place the staff in its Crazy Place pedestal and kill ~20 zombies to charge it → take the ultimate staff.
Wind — "Boreas' Fury"
In the Crazy Place wind area, four stone rings hang overhead. Shoot the rings with the wind staff to rotate them until all four show the same symbol aligned in a line. Then, on the surface, use the staff on the three smoking grey orbs around the map so their smoke streams toward the dig site. Orb, charge, done.
Ice — "Ull's Arrow"
In the Crazy Place ice area, stone slabs with symbols are set into the ceiling/walls. Shoot the slabs that match the symbols shown below — three correct sets in a row. Then on the surface, freeze the three flaming carts/braziers with the staff. Orb, charge, done.
Lightning — "Kimat's Bite"
In the Crazy Place lightning area, a wall of purple triangles forms a piano. Shoot the keys in the sequence shown (bottom row of symbols) — seven notes. Then on the surface, find the electric panels around the map (near perk machines) and turn their dials to the correct settings so current flows to the dig site. Orb, charge, done.
Fire — "Kagutsuchi's Blood"
In the Church, read the glowing red numerals on the wall. In the Crazy Place fire area, shoot the torches matching those numbers with the fire staff. Then kill zombies near the cauldron/furnace in the Church until their souls fill it. Orb, charge, done.
Phase 4: The Little Lost Girl Steps
Step 1: Wield a Fist of Iron (One-Inch Punch)
Four Ritual of the Ancients reward boxes (soul chests) sit around the map. Fill each with 30 zombie kills made beside it. When the fourth completes, claim the One-Inch Punch from the chest — a melee that one-shots well into the teens. (Solo tip: do these passively, one chest per area you're already fighting in. Odin's stomps can close chests temporarily — wait him out.)
Step 2: Obtain the G-Strike Beacons
- Take the dirty stone tablet from the Tank Station (near Generator 2).
- Place it in the holy water basin in the Church and kill zombies nearby until the tablet is cleansed.
- Return it to the Tank Station table — you receive the G-Strike, a tactical beacon that calls in a mortar barrage.
Step 3: Rain Fire — Break the Seal
- Find the stone seal in the dirt mound near the Excavation Site/Church path.
- Throw a G-Strike beacon onto the seal — the robots are drawn to strike it.
- Stand on the seal as Odin's foot comes down so you're scooped inside, and press the red button in his head as you pass through.
- Done right, Odin's stomp cracks the seal open.
Step 4: Unleash the Horde
Build the Maxis Drone if you haven't (parts: brain on the table in spawn's lower section, frame near Pack-a-Punch by the gramophone table, rotors along the tank route/ice tunnel). Release the drone near the broken seal — Maxis flies in, and Panzer Soldats attack: two at once on solo (four in a full lobby). Kill them all in that round. An upgraded Ice or Wind staff shreds them; aim for the faceplate.
Step 5: Skewer the Winged Beast
- Get Zombie Blood (dig piles/drops).
- While it's active, look up: a glowing plane crosses the sky above the Excavation Site. Shoot it down.
- Still in Zombie Blood, spot the glowing zombie running circles around the dig site — only visible in Zombie Blood. Kill it and it drops the Maxis Drone back to you.
Step 6: Place the Staffs
With all four ultimate staffs charged and all six generators live, four pedestals activate: one at the bottom of the Excavation Site, and one in each giant robot's head (enter via the glowing foot, place, and leap out). Match each staff to its marked pedestal — once all four are seated, the robots march to the corners of the map and lock in.
Step 7: Feed the Machine — 100 Souls
Enter the Crazy Place (any portal). Now kill 100 Templar zombies inside — their souls spiral into the center. Solo this is the endurance test: run the loop, use the One-Inch Punch and traps of movement, and don't go down with no one to revive you.
Step 8: Release Samantha (Game Ends!)
A portal opens in the heart of the Crazy Place. When you're ready — this ends the match — send the Maxis Drone into the portal. The cutscene plays: Samantha (and little Eddie) leave the house... and the story of BO2 Zombies closes. "Little Lost Girl" unlocked.
Musical Easter Eggs (✅ Solo)
- Shepherd of Fire by Avenged Sevenfold plays the first time you ride the tank each game.
- Archangel — the map's hidden Sherwood/Siegman track — triggers from the map's hidden radio/interactables; Origins also hides a full set of lore radios worth hunting between quest steps.
FAQ
Is Origins the best BO2 easter egg to do solo? Yes — it's the only full main quest in BO2 (and the whole BO1/BO2 PS5 pair, alongside Moon's solo version and Call of the Dead) with zero multiplayer-gated steps.
Does Origins have Maxis and Richtofen endings like the other BO2 maps? No — one quest, one ending ("Little Lost Girl"). The Maxis/Richtofen split only applies to TranZit, Die Rise and Buried.
What order should I upgrade staffs solo? Ice or Wind first for Panzer control, Fire for horde damage, Lightning last. All four are mandatory for the quest.
How long does a solo run take? 2–3 hours for a clean run; add an hour for your first attempt at the staff upgrades.
Tips
- Build the Zombie Shield (parts near Generator 5/tank station/church) — it blocks Panzer grabs and saves solo runs.
- Never spend Zombie Blood casually after Step 4 — you need one for the plane/beast step.
- Keep one G-Strike in reserve; they're also the best oh-no button in the game.
- Fill soul chests while doing other steps, not as a separate grind.
- The final portal step is a point of no return — hit it only when the trophy is the last thing left.
