BO7 Zombies: Totenreich — Everything We Know So Far
Everything revealed so far about Totenreich, the new round-based Zombies map coming in Black Ops 7 Season 3. Map setting, confirmed features, and what to expect from the easter egg.

Season 3 Reveal Trailer
What is Totenreich?
Totenreich is the new round-based Zombies map dropping with Black Ops 7 Season 3. The name is German — roughly translates to "Reich of the Dead" — and from what we've seen in the trailer and the blog posts, it looks like it could be one of the standout maps this year.
The map takes place on a Norwegian fishing island that got pulled into the Dark Aether after a Group 935 experiment went wrong. The whole island is stuck in time — docks, fishing shacks, a church, underground research facilities — all corrupted. It's giving classic Zombies vibes in a way we haven't really gotten since the BO3 days.
Storywise it continues from Ashes of the Damned. The Ex-Requiem crew — Weaver, Grey, Carver, Aguinaldo — are back, and Richtofen apparently has a major role this time around.
What's Been Confirmed
Here's what we actually know from official sources and the trailer:
- Round-based map — not an open world mode, proper round-based. Thank god.
- Norwegian fishing village setting with multiple zones. From the trailer you can make out docks, a village center, a church, and what looks like an underground facility.
- Group 935 is back in the storyline. Audio logs and environmental storytelling are supposedly a big part of the map.
- New wonder weapon: the Todesstrahl — means "Death Ray" in German. Looks like a tesla-style energy weapon from the brief clips in the trailer. Seems to have two fire modes based on the footage.
- The Ex-Requiem crew returns as playable operators.
- Richtofen has a significant story presence.
Map Layout (From What We Can Tell)
Based on the trailer footage and the overhead shot at around 1:47, the map seems to have four main areas:
- The Docks — waterfront area, looks like it might be the spawn or at least close to it
- The Village — central hub area with the rift altar visible in a couple shots
- The Church — sits on higher ground, there's a quick shot of a bell tower with what might be a zipline
- The Underground Facility — Group 935 lab stuff, this is probably where Pack-a-Punch will be based on how it looked in the trailer
The layout looks semi-open with clear lanes between zones. Not a super tight map from what I can tell but not massive either. Feels like a good middle ground.
Easter Egg Speculation
Obviously we don't know the actual steps yet — the map isn't out — but there are some things from the trailer that are almost definitely easter egg related:
- There's a shot of some kind of rune puzzle on a wall inside what looks like a chamber under the church. Four panels with symbols on them. That screams main quest step.
- The rift antenna array on the east side of the village gets a couple seconds of screen time. It's glowing and clearly interactive. Probably involved in either the wonder weapon quest or the main EE.
- At the very end of the trailer there's a split-second flash of something massive — hard to make out but it looks like a boss entity. The community is calling it "Der Leere Wächter" (The Void Warden) based on some text that was datamined from the Season 3 patch files.
- Glowing insignias on the ground appear in a few shots. Five of them from what people have counted frame by frame. Likely a "shoot these in order" type step.
I'll have the full walkthrough up as soon as the map drops and the community figures out the steps. Bookmark this page — it'll be updated to a complete guide once we know what we're dealing with.
What I'm Hoping For
Personally I just want a solid main quest that doesn't require 4 players to complete. The last couple maps were brutal solo and it kind of killed the replayability for me. The Todesstrahl looks sick though and if the map layout is as good as the trailer makes it seem, this could be a really fun one.
Also hoping the boss fight — assuming there is one — isn't just a bullet sponge. Give us mechanics. Give us phases. Make it interesting.
When Does Totenreich Come Out?
Season 3 has been announced but Treyarch hasn't given an exact release date for the map yet. Based on the usual schedule, expect it sometime in the next few weeks. I'll update this page the moment we get a confirmed date.
This article will be turned into a full easter egg guide once Totenreich is live. Check back after launch for the complete walkthrough. Last updated April 13, 2026.
